Security Service is Texas’ largest credit union, offering a variety of financial products and services. The organization was founded in 1956 with just 8 members and $25 on deposit. Since then, Security Service has grown to more than 700,000 members and over $8 billion in assets.

 

As a Copywriter for Security Service, I produced content for print advertisements, direct mail campaigns, and sales promotions. Although many of these projects required intensive regulatory compliance, I continually sought creative ways to make the organization’s products resonate with consumers. Evidently it worked: I wrote a direct mail credit card offer that achieved a 4.67 percent response rate, well above the 2012 average of 0.6 percent*.
